Synopsis:
The only goal as a mother is not to raise children who need to recover from childhood. The experience of a dysfunctional family, but with a common purpose, brings to the surface typologies of personalities with a strong and influential character, but also those who are shadowed by internal tensions and conflicts, unable to rise to challenges and often crushed under the pressure of the expectations and manipulations of others. In such a context, those who seek control and validation tend to dominate, while those who are vulnerable retreat in silence, submitting out of fear or inability to assert their identity. A child, witnessing the chaos of his own family, sees how some control their destiny through manipulation, while those drained of power lose themselves. Faced with the harsh truth of these power games, he will ultimately have to make a decision: to lose himself in the shadow of compromise or to fight against the chaos that threatens to swallow him too.

Diana Ștefania Maioru is an artist active in the performing arts and trained in Musical Performance at the “Gheorghe Dima” Academy of Music in Cluj Napoca, she works at the intersection of contemporary dance, performance, and choreographic research. She created the choreographic concept for Maternal (TopicHub Sibiu, 2025), in collaboration with director Silvana Neda, and has been a constant collaborator of NON – Center for Performing Arts since 2023, as both performer and choreographer. In 2025, she created and performed in Ce se poartă anul ăsta: rușinea, produced through a Startbloc: Creșteri Organice grant. At NON, she also performs in Faust (2023–) and Blossom. sau Înflorirea (2025), choreographed by Roxana Florescu. Her artistic background includes a six-month Erasmus residency at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza in Alicante, where she worked with several choreographers and participated in masterclasses that strengthened her interest in interdisciplinary and emerging choreographic practices.
